Very poor reliability

Very poor reliability, even private IP is quickly recognised as a VPN. Poor customer services, no accountability. Each time I wanted to use it I had to contact them for them to reissue IP, clear history... not what you want at the end of a long day to just relax and watch something!

The most expensive VPN I've ever used

Looking closely at all the comments, it seems that everyone is unhappy with Astrill.I've been using this VPN since last month, and to be honest, it's been pretty stable so far, with no loss of connection, but the biggest drawback is that it's pretty expensive, $20 a month.I live in China, and in order to use services like Google, I have bought a lot of VPN services that cost only 20 or 30 RMB.So when will Astrill cut its price?

10 Years a customer......

What a shame.
Simply the best VPN service there ever was is going down the pan.
I pay a premium for a Private UK IP address only to find that it will not deliver what is promised.
I'm currently "battling" with their support team to resolve my issues but having experienced the Geo-Blocking for over a month now I don't hold out much hope.
Astrill don't read their Trustpilot feedback so this is left for potential customers seeking assurance before purchase.
I'm leaving Astrill. I have used their services for 10 years. They were the best by a long way but now they are less than average.

Worst technical support

Worst technical support. Not helpful at all anymore. We agreed a few months ago on a subscription extension because some video streaming services were not working anymore and now they don't respect this agreement and are closing all ticked I open... Totally unacceptable !!! Very disappointing compared to what it was be before... TO BE AVOIDED NOW !

The worst technical support experience…

The worst technical support experience I have ever had. I'm glad I only signed up for one month but awful that I am still stuck with them for the majority of said month. I bought the service on Saturday today is Tuesday and I cannot access HBO. They made me hold for tech support for thirty minutes and then the tech support rep just sent me a list of things to do with no instructions of how to do them. Moronic. Do not sign up for this service, it is overpriced and I've never experienced such horrible customer service.

I have lived in China for 4 years

I have lived in China for 4 years. My first year I used Express as this is a huge one lots of people (used to) use. October holiday it went bad and honestly never recovered. I finally got a refund from them as it took over 5 minutes for my VPN to connect, but then I switched to Astrill and WOW. Its definitely the most expensive, but its so worth it in China. It always works and I can watch Netflix from anywhere. Will update if it stops being so good.

Over priced and bad customer service

Over priced and bad customer service. I have an account from my employer and I contacted them about getting a personal account. I did this for three years and every time I bought a personal account there were issues with how they process payments. It was definitely nothing to do with my form/method of payment. It was always the way they processed the payment. It was an issue they said they would fix ten years ago and still haven't. Each time during the past three years it was the same issue and hours to rectify and sometimes it never got rectified because of their horrible approach to customers. So each year I just continued to use the one provided by work. I have save $360 because of their bad customer service. It doesn't matter who you get as a representative, they are all bad, as if they seek out or have a test to find out how not to listen to what a customer is saying and then do exactly something bad to drive away the customer.

Aidel - Terrible customer support

I spoke to Aidel from Customer support. I am basically being punished for purchasing a 1 year membership. If I want to try a private IP address I have to add it to my full years subscription instead of being able to buy 1 month Private IP (to see if it actually works)
Aidel offered no support whatsoever, was quite rude in telling my issue was not a priority (I thought paying customers looking to spend more money with you would definitely be a priority)
What a shambles, gutted I already gave these guys money for a 1 year subscription, will go back to Express VPN who although have problems of their own have a fantastic support team

Absolutely terrible.

Absolutely terrible.
I live in China and I purchased the so called "VIP" service to enhance my gaming and to access some betting websites.
Using the "Stealth" Mode BET365 and Smarkets both recognised my location and locked my accounts.
It also doesn't work for one of the most popular games in the world Modern Warfare.
Use ExpressVPN or Nord I would say!
The support team are pretty useless as well. In order to even buy the VIP service I had to download mozilla firefox (didn't realise i live in the year 2000) because their payment system does not work with Google chrome or Microsoft edge

Cancer Astrill Support

This review is 100% real and I have experienced it. I was having issue with my Astrill account which was not connecting to all servers and I believe that the issue was with my account instead of their servers. The support guy Harold didn't listen to me, he hold me on chat for 1 hour and more than that. I asked him to connect me to the manager but he didn't and also he didn't resolve my issue. The support guy was newbie, he has no idea about VPN.

Just based on the willingness of support to assist alone, I am giving this service a 5-star review. Even without using live chat, support is always willing to listen and respond in a timely manner. The service is also excellent. Is it pricey, sure; but is it speedy, simple and gets the job done, double-sure.

Astrill is useless in China

Astrill is useless in China! Don't buy! We are stuck with a years subscription and it does not work
